Today seems to be my day for exciting news on launches of MOOC course and a BOOK, in both of which I played a part. So thought to share with you.
This morning I received news from the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the SDG Academy that the MOOC course I had participated/taught in was being launched on Labour Day, May 1, 2020. Myself and Martha Chen, Harvard University, talk about Informality and work in Module 3 in NEW EDx COURSE on Work and Employment, Launching on Labour Day, May 1, 2020. “Learn about structural shifts in economies and work; informality, gender and child labor, the modern welfare state; the future of work, and more in “Work and Employment for Sustainable Development” launching on May 1, 2020.”
Later in the day I hear from the publisher that “Samruddha Bharat Foundation’s third volume in the Rethinking India series, “Reviving Jobs: An Agenda for Growth” will be released on Amazon as an e-book on May 1st (the formal launch will happen later). Published by Penguin and edited by Prof. Santosh Mehrotra (former Member, Planning Commission). This book raises some very pertinent issues that are relevant in the current state of affairs. “
I am alerted by a tweet from a student of mine that the excerpts of a Chapter of mine from this book has been published in scroll.in, a very popular online paper. My piece on ‘Boosting Women’s Work’ in ‘Reviving Jobs’: Yes, the workforce needs many more women. But first, their rights must be protected via @scroll_in.
Sure, it is my day today. Announcement of two launches on May 1, 2020, Labour Day!
